Scott Krycia is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. For more than three decades, he has dedicated his life to documenting the world through his lens, revealing the hidden beauty in places and moments that most people overlook.
Early years and inspiration
From his early days with a hand-me-down 35mm film SLR Scott was drawn to the quiet drama of light and shadow that shaped the landscapes around him. By his teenage years, Scott was spending weekends photographing his favorite subjects: forgotten buildings, rusting cars, and small towns that felt frozen in time.
A Career Built on Storytelling
Over the years, Scott has worked across multiple creative disciplines — from photography and filmmaking to commercial production and brand storytelling. His body of work reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and a relentless pursuit of truth within the frame.
Scott’s ongoing project, Vanished America, explores the remnants of America’s forgotten corners — ghost towns, crumbling architecture, and overlooked roadside relics tell stories of a past long gone. His Dark Skies astrophotography series captures the celestial beauty of night skies over some of the nation’s most remote and awe-inspiring locations.
On the Road and Beyond
Scott travels part-time across the country in his camper van to photograph national parks, historic landmarks, and the quiet, untamed corners of the country. These journeys form the backbone of his YouTube channel, where he shares behind-the-scenes insights into his creative process, gear, and adventures
With his work featured in National Geographic, various National Ad campaigns and on CNN Scott Krycia has proven that photography is not just about taking pictures - it’s about capturing the stories that live within them.
